
Tyson-Thomas Named Player of the Year

Tyson-Thomas led her league in scoring in 2016-17
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Guard Carmen Tyson-Thomas '13 led the Icelandic Basketball League in scoring during the 2016-17 season, averaging 37.0 points per game for Njardvik.
In 23 games played, Tyson-Thomas notched 37.0 points, 16.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 2.7 steals, and 1.0 blocked shots per outing. In addition to leading the league in scoring, she also ranked second in rebounding, sixth in steals, seventh in blocks, and 10th in assists.
For her performance on the court, Tyson-Thomas brought home a plethora of honors. She was named to the Eurobasket.com Icelandic League Player of the Year, Forward of the Year, and Co-Import of the Year. She also notched All-Icelandic League First Team and All-Imports Team honors.
A Philadelphia native, Tyson-Thomas finished her collegiate career with 1,230 points scored, which ranks 15th in program history. She also ranks sixth on the Syracuse all-time rebounds list after pulling down 903 rebounds in her time on campus.
